Unprompted Written Comments from Students
"One of the best decisions I've made was taking your course. I've learned so much, not only about how to write better but how to critique better."
"I had a great time in your class. It was an enjoyable experience and I'm glad I ventured into the literary world a little bit this semester. Thanks for the great teaching."
"I wanted to thank you for being so kind this semester and giving our class such interesting assignments. You are a wonderful professor and I am so glad that I had the chance to take this course with you this semester- considering it was the reason I decided to take English as a second major. I really hope I will have another chance to take a English course with you again. Thank you for also giving me the chance to share with you and the class something that has really changed my life and challenged me as a person and a writer. And thank you for challenging me and constantly keeping me on my toes."
"I tried keeping this email brief, and I just want to say that this has been a wonderful class and the way you taught it was truly amazing. I'm really trying to keep myself from brown-nosing, but I adore short-fiction and you have done nothing to poison my love of it..."
"Thanks so much for the great class I really enjoyed it and you as a professor."
"Dear Professor Adsit, I had a really good experience in your class this semester. I absolutely loved this class. You were very nice and helpful. I gained a lot in this class. Thank you for making our class interesting!"
"Thank you so much for editing all my papers with me, I enjoyed your class very much and have expanded my literary horizon very much so!"
"You were there when I first decided to explore my writing skills using my own creativity and my own imagination. In class we looked into different ways of writing and interpreting stories, and reading in between the lines, words aren't always what they appear to be. We explored authors such as Hemingway, which truly inspired me to become a better writer, to explore myself more when I did my in-class presentation. I doubt I expressed my appreciation enough in class, but your motivating words and belief in me as a writer has kept this dream alive for me, and for that I can never express my gratitude!"
"Thank you for an entertaining and thoughtful English class."
"It has been a pleasure learning a new perspective on writing from you this semester."
"Thank you for this semester! You have been one of the most organized and best professors I have had at Siena College!"
"Thank you so much for all your pointers on the paper and all your help throughout the year! It was a wonderful experience to take your class and your feedback really helped me to improve upon my writing skills."
